A Soldier Stands Alone. Never Forget Remembrance Day

The picture of the lone soldier standing by the symbolic graves of his companions makes a poignant statement.  For the most part we forget they are out there, fighting for us.  It is the forgotten sacrifice of our soldiers of every age, battle and war.  Remembrance Day is the one day we need to pull together and remember not just our soldiers but every soldier.

I post this great drawing by Donato with respect and as a reminder to everyone why Remembrance Day is important.  I also do so to remember my Grandfather and my Father in Law.  Both are veterans who are no longer with us.  It is important we honor those few veterans who are still with us as well as those who are no longer here. 

As the bugle played the last post and chorus, the old men stood up proud and tall.  But year after year, their numbers get fewer.  Some day no one will stand there at all.  But we shall never Forget them.
